Institute for Social Work Research
The Board of Regents of the State of Florida University System established the Institute for Health and Human Services Research in 1986. First called the Center for Human Services Policy and Administration, it was created as an interdisciplinary university-wide research institute, with a mission to conduct research for both the public and the private sector. Its goal is to develop and disseminate knowledge to improve policy decisions. In 1999 IHHSR was relocated in the College of Social Work at Florida State University. In 2005, the name was changed to the Institute for Social Work Research. The Institute for Social Work Research is the overarching research structure with the College of Social Work.
